
Lift & Empower Teens:
Building Strength, Confidence & Resilience
We’re proud to introduce Lift & Empower Teens, a youth-focused strength training and personal development programme designed to uplift and empower the next generation. This project has been made possible with the generous support of Active Essex, which believes in our mission to make fitness more accessible, inclusive, and impactful for all.
This initiative focuses on teenagers aged 12+, particularly those from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds who may not otherwise have access to structured strength training or personal development opportunities. Each session is built around more than just movement—we use the gym space as a platform for growth, resilience, confidence-building, and community connection.
What’s Involved?

Two 1-hour sessions per week in small groups (up to 12 participants)

Focus on strength training using free weights and machines, scaled to individual ability and experience

Emphasis on safe movement, mindset coaching, and creating a positive relationship with physical activity

Sessions run by experienced coaches in a calm, respectful, and non-intimidating environment
Our goal is to help young people:

Build physical and mental resilience

Develop long-term healthy habits

Learn to trust their bodies and capabilities

Experience the power of showing up—for themselves and for each other
Why This Matters
So many teenagers today face pressures from school, social media, and life in general. This project offers a safe and encouraging space where they can learn to move their bodies, build strength, and gain confidence—without judgement or expectation. It’s about planting the seed of self-belief and supporting them as they grow.
We’re incredibly grateful to Active Essex for recognising the value of this project and providing the funding to bring it to life. Their support helps us create a space where teenagers can feel strong, seen, and supported.

Alongside our teen programme,
we’re also developing a range of other community-focused projects to reach groups who are often overlooked in traditional fitness spaces. These include Men’s Mental Health support, Mums That Lift, dedicated sessions for the Over 60s, and a project supporting Veterans through strength-based training Mindset coaching and community connection.
We're working hard behind the scenes to raise the funds needed to make Lift & Empower even more accessible to those who need it most. While we’re grateful for the grants and support we’ve received so far, we still rely on income from our sessions and the generosity of our community to keep our facility running and expand our impact. Every class you attend, every donation made, and every kind word shared helps us move one step closer to our mission.
